Tender Photo Editorial Fellowship
The first edition of the Tender Photo Editorial Fellowship ran from January to June, 2024. Five writers of African descent based on the African continent worked with the editor of Tender Photo, Emmanuel Iduma, to initiate and facilitate correspondence with the featured photographers, write short narrative captions, and prepare the newsletter for publication. The fellowship was targeted at early to mid-career individuals who write in English and are interested in deepening their engagement with photography about the continent. Preference was given to those with little to no formal training in the visual arts or art criticism.
The 2024 fellows were Onotu David (Nigeria), moshood (Ghana), Sana Ginwalla (Zambia), Sibongakonke Mama (South Africa), and Zenas Ubere (Nigeria). You can see an index of their contributions below.
