As an aside the second picture shows how well texture can be used to evoke - brown flesh on the lightest brown cloth (silk?). Second aside, religion is like cloth, used to protect against the elements of life.
Now, the flash of teeth of the woman with the light green hijab, the flash of teeth and maybe almost smile of the smaller girl or woman with white in her hijab. They remind me of tenacity and performance, the ability in the dark to turn to the camera and flash a smile that doesn't go past teeth. The willingness to try.
