I was recently on a writing residency. Where I read one Maya Angelou's I know why the caged bird sings. It reminded me just as this photograph of this woman reminds me that there is a wisdom only earned from lived experience. And that this kind of wisdom becomes a personal manifesto, it cannot become knowledge easily transferred, it belongs only to one person and to partake of it, you have to be willing to do a lot of internal work. Her eyes are closed, this woman and she is immersed in that sort of wisdom, that sort of unshakable, personal knowing.
I love the sense one gets from this photograph of an inner strength that this woman is closing her eyes for a moment to draw on. It's a powerful portrait of recomposing oneself to face what life next has to offer. Thank you
Nicely done. I can see the colors here as the foundation on which to view this photograph, this woman. I am mostly a b/w photographer, i don’t see colors in a composition as you have here. I appreciate the new view. Nicely done.
